New for 2022
Philip and Mason have been working furiously through the pandemic on our latest graphic novels. In January 2021 we completed the fourth and final Marabou Mule Mystery Series, Blanc Noir Quatre. And on January 31, 2022, we are thrilled to announce our latest arrival: FATIZEN The Graphic Novel, Part Three: Their Mortal Rind, the final chapter in the FATIZEN trillogy.

Philip and Mason will be signing copies of all of our graphic novels at Black Star Collectibles in Lakewood Mall on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 3 PM. From all of us at Embonpoint, we thank you for your support of our little imprint. Happy New Year!

We've been busy working on FATIZEN Part 2 for a summer 2020 release followed by the next installment of Blanc Noir in Fall 2020. We'll keep you all updated with those exciting projects.

We were recently invited to join writer Lise Quintana on her Living Large in American podcast to discuss FATIZEN and Philip's fat advocacy work leading him to write the prose book and develop it for a graphic novel with his husband Mason Arrigo along with colorist Chris Link. The episode is called, "The Stories We Tell About Ourselves."

Getting the word out
Three years of book fairs, releases, and readings. The glamorous life of writing, illustrating, and publishing! We are so thankful to our family, friends and partners who have been there for us all along the way. We couldn't have done this without any of you. This journey has been a lot of hard work and joy. Definitely worth our effort!

Looking Back...
Today's environment of free speech and the reporting on the truth by journalists and the media has come under attack by many. Writer & Editor Philip Barragan addressed the importance of the written word in 2011 at Antioch University Los Angeles' Commencement Ceremony at UCLA's Royce Hall.
